Learning Through Actual Application
We don't believe in memorizing formulas. Instead, you'll apply concepts immediately. Each week introduces a new topic, followed by hands-on exercises using real market data from Canadian companies and international markets.
By the end of the program, you'll have analyzed dozens of companies, built sample portfolios, and understood the reasoning behind different investment strategies. We focus on developing judgment, not just technical knowledge.
The program runs for 24 weeks starting in September 2025, with sessions twice weekly. You'll need about 8-10 hours per week for coursework and assignments.
What You'll Actually Learn
Six focused modules that build on each other. Each one takes 3-4 weeks and includes practical assignments based on current market conditions.
Market Fundamentals
How markets actually work, who the players are, and what moves prices. We cover exchanges, trading mechanisms, and the basic structure of financial markets in Canada and globally.
Financial Statement Analysis
Reading balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports. You'll learn what matters and what's just noise when evaluating a company's financial health.
Valuation Methods
Different approaches to figuring out what something is worth. We cover DCF models, comparable analysis, and when each method makes sense to use.
Portfolio Construction
How to put together a diversified portfolio based on specific goals and risk tolerance. This includes asset allocation, rebalancing strategies, and understanding correlation.
Risk Management
Identifying and managing different types of investment risk. We look at hedging strategies, position sizing, and how to think about downside protection.
Market Research
Finding reliable information, analyzing industry trends, and understanding macroeconomic factors that affect investment decisions. You'll learn to separate signal from noise.
Who You'll Learn From
Three instructors with different backgrounds who've spent years working in investment analysis and portfolio management.
Anselm Hjortsberg
Spent twelve years as an equity analyst covering technology and industrial sectors. Now focuses on teaching fundamental analysis and helping people understand what drives long-term value.
Dragan Vesić
Managed institutional portfolios for eight years before transitioning to education. Brings practical experience in asset allocation and risk management to the program.
Siobhán Culhane
Background in economic research and fixed income analysis. Teaches market structure, macroeconomic analysis, and how different asset classes behave in various conditions.
Real Work, Real Feedback
Every module includes assignments where you analyze actual companies or build specific portfolio components. You'll submit your work, receive detailed feedback, and refine your approach.
The program includes weekly live sessions where we review challenging concepts, walk through examples together, and discuss current market events. You'll also have access to office hours for individual questions.
